On the 29-31 August Sports Tuition conducted King's Christian's College's Year 5 school camp. 99 students participated in the survivor format. It ended up being a true survivor camp with a bit of rain and a power outage due to a storm. During the storm, the students all gathered in the conference area for some games, etc, so it is handy to have this facility available. We experienced some heavy rain just prior to this camp commencing, which did slow the fishing slightly. Quite often after a heavy dump, the water does take a couple of days to settle before the fish start to fire up again. The group enjoyed building rafts on the dam, and they weren't afraid to jump in, so that's an indication that the water temperature is starting to warm up. The students also enjoyed the milk crate climb, archery, canoeing and fishing. And even though their wood was damp, they managed some great fires and were still able to cook their bacon & egg muffins for breakfast.
