The Catch of the Month section is designed to have guests of Camp Lake Fire submit their best catch, desribing how and where it was caught. If a lure is featured, and CLF does not stock it in the shop, it will endeavour to do so.
Each person who features in the Catch of the Month will receive a Camp Lake Fire $100 voucher which can be used towards camping or cabin accommodation, boat, canoe or kayak hire. Gary, fishing with his daughters Lily and Poppy picked up quite a few bass around the timber region of Maroon Dam. They hired one of the boats on site and used live shrimp as bait. It was great to hear that both of the girls caught their very first fish as well. All the fish were caught using a light Shimano outfit. The Stradic 2500 reels were spooled with 10lb PowerPro braid with a SureCatch 12lb invisible leader. The line had a paternoster rig with a size 4 Mustad bigmouth hook and a one ball sinker.
